There's only one Kate in London.

So, a couple of weeks ago I did something marvel, I actually took the lecturers advice and ventured to the film section of the uni library, as I had a free (very unusual) last week in Notts I figured I could chill with a good classic or two, whilst it counting as work. (It counts in my book anyway.)
So rooting through for a copy of Fellini's Dolce Vita, what I actually stumbled on was a 2 part documentary on modelling legend and arguably the most well known face in Britain, of all time: Kate Moss. The documentary closely followed her career and personal life from discovery to what was the present day at the time (2008). Now of course she is planning her wedding to Jamie Hince and happy ever after.....perhaps.
Anyway, it reminded just how truly amazingly striking she really is and how only she could pull through a drugs/orgies scandal and be better off. Here are some images that I found when searching for her on weheartit.com.

Long live Moss.

What Size? are you?

So, the largest chunk of my second module was by far the US retail report. It involved taking a UK brand over to the US this time. We were given a selection of 5 brands which we had to pick from and write a visually based retail report that examined the move over there. Alongside this report a look book and invitation to the launch also had to be designed and produced.

I chose UK footwear and apparel brand: Size? which I chose to collaborate (this element of the report was mandatory) with the NBA and superbrand Nike to create a selection of 5 vintage design Nike shoes all colour themed in the NBA champions of the year the shoe was released.

Here are some of the more visual elements of the report...

The launch invitation...

And finally, the lookbook...

Next step.

One of the other projects to go into the portfolio was the execution of someone elses photographic brief. In a group of 4, including Millie, Alice, Jade as well as myself we were given the brand Wildfox, an LA style brand. If you know anything about Wildfox, this will make more sense, but the brief we were given was awethummm! This project was funn!

Photoshoot planned, we chose a variety of models to help us carry it out, whilst we all took turns to style, arrange and take photographs. The narrative was about a young, native american girl having a nightime party in the woodland to celebrate her journey through adolescence.

^ Styling for the shoot

^ Some of the other shots we liked but didn't include

^ Some photos of us in action

^ My own moodboard to summarise the shoot

^  The first magazine spread (advertising not editorial)

^ The same as before but an alternative

Playing adult.

So this module: Creative Networks; was really applicable to real life. Several of the projects we were set were exactly the sort of thing that we would be doing in industry. First of these things was the photographic brief, where we had to move a US brand over to the UK that was not already here, and design a photo brief for a launching ad campaign. I chose ethical apparel brand 'Alternative Apparel'.

These are some of the more visual pages of the brief, I won't bore you by putting the entire thing up!
