Well jel.

So those of you who know me will already be aware that I have not been blessed with good hair genes. The untameable ball of frizz that sits stubbornly upon my head is something that inevitably curses me with incurable hair envy, that is only made worse by hoarding pictures of desirable styles on my pinterest board. These are some ponies that I'm yearning to recreate at the minute.

Oh what I'd give to be Cara Delevigne.

A/W Trend Report 2012

For a recent competition entry for Company magazine, participants were required to produce an A/W12 Trend Report of what we thought would be the key trends for the season. Above is mine, a post about my week at Company will follow soon!

Cos

Having heard about the calibre of the Cos summer sale, I had a little look whilst browsing some of my favourites today. It did not disappoint. Here are a few of my picks for the sale, but hurry ladies, they're low in stock so don't hang around!

Retail Therapy

I love, love, love this relatively recent short film that Roman Polanski has shot for Prada. The film stars the undeniably outstanding Helena Bonham Carter who plays a wealthy heiress musing about a nightmare to her Psychiatrist played by Ben Kingsley. This clever portrayal of the brand highlights their  recurring theme of wit and reminds the viewer once again that Prada are people that play around with fashion, they don't take themselves too seriously. Such a refreshing answer to the humorous Lanvin film produced last year. Genius.

Love everything about these images and Amber Le Bon looks ridiculous.

DSquared2's fall campaign leads us into the classroom one more time for their AW12 collection. Sixties being the zeitgeist of choice the collection is full of prom dresses, knits, capri pants and geek-esque specs. Shot by Mert & Marcus the school of DSquared2 appears to be one that I think many wish they'd enrolled at.

Brock of Ages

Having now finished my 2nd year at University I seem to have a lot of spare time on my hands which has been partly filled with surfing the world of tumblr. and beyond in search of something new. This is where Brock Davis' blog comes in. Davis is an art director/creative director/illustrator/designer/pretty much anything else creative working in advertising and editorial and his work is some of the most fun and interesting that I have come across in a while. My personal favourite project of his is called 'Make something cool everyday: 2009'; something that pretty much does what it says on the tin. From photography to installation he has made something creative everyday for 365 days, here is a selection of my favourites.

Clever stuff.

We've been talking a lot at University lately about the future of publishing and where its going. This video is a clever piece by DK that shows its not really important, what's important is that you listen to what your consumers want. This kind of blew our minds a bit.

K is for.

Our latest project involves creating a zine, and so have been overloaded with names of publications that we should look at and research and take inspiration from. But one of these publications that has really struck a chord with me is 'Kinfolk'. They describe themselves as follows

'KINFOLK is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We've created Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love.'

The aesthetic of the zine is beautiful and so, apologies for the briefness of my post, but I have just a few moments to share it with you.
